Transportation

ECO-INNOVATIONS IN MOBILITY
In a global community, how will we get to where we want to go with the least amount of impact on our environment? How can our travel or modes of transportation reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption and use less of our natural resources?
The TRANSPORTATION category considers all forms of sustainable modes of transportation from air, land or sea for either private or public use.  It does not consider civic modes of transport or transportation routes or systems, such as public buses or city walk ways.  Although civic and regional transportation designs and systems that encourage the most sustainable travel, for instance by walking or cycling, is increasingly important and truly relevant to our required need of reducing emissions, pollution and congestion; it does not fit into this category at this time.
What we’re looking for:
• Modes of Transportation that use less energy and/or alternative energy or fuels and release less carbon emissions
• Modes of Transportation that make use of sustainable materials wherever possible
• Modes of Transportation with an impeccable design element incorporating advances in technology, ease of use and comfort for the end-user
